The final free practice session for Saturday’s third round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship took place in warm and sunny conditions at Spa-Francorchamps this morning.

Hypercar

Ferrari re-take the top of the timing screens order as Antonio Fuoco takes the #50 Ferrari AF Corse 499P Hypercar to a fastest lap of 2m00.596s in the 60-minute session at Spa

Fuoco’s lap proves to be 0.197s clear of the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota entry which is taken to a 2m00.793s peak by Earl Bamber

Cadillac Hertz Team Jota also place third with the #12 Cadillac V.Series R as Alex Lynn posts the best time for the second gold car on a 2m00.823s

The #83 AF Corse Ferrari that evokes the Ecurie Belgium squad of the 1960s with its yellow livery takes fourth position. A 2m01.205s lap via Robert Kubica sees the car continue a strong showing in all three free practice sessions

Brendon Hartley places the #8 Toyota in to fifth position as he and team mates Ryo Hirakawa and Sebastien Buemi look to reprise their 2021 success at Spa

But earlier Hirakawa spun the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing Hypercar 20-minutes in to the session but the Japanese ace continues largely unaffected

Completing the top six is the #93 Peugeot TotalEnergies 9X8 as Jean-Eric Vergne sets the best time of #2m01.597s to ensure the top six is separated by a mere 1.001s

The rest of the top ten reads as: 7th #7 Toyota; 8th #99 Proton Porsche; 9th #51 Ferrari AF Corse; 10th #35 Alpine

LMGT3

Simon Mann is the start of the session as he blasts the VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 car to top spot with an early lap of 2m17.831s

Silver categorised driver Mann does a strong qualifying sim lap to outpace his direct opposition by 0.350s

Second in category and continuing the strong pace shown on Thursday is the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang. A peak lap of 2m18.182s set by Giammarco Levorato adds further optimism for the Ford Mustang squad as they chase a second podium after achieving a first at Le Mans last June

Akkodis ASP again sound a warning for a potential attempt at pole position later today as the #87 Akkodis ASP Lexus finishes in third position with Clemens Schmid stopping the clocks on a 2m18.676s

Fifth is the #10 Spirit of Leman Aston Martin as Eduardo Barrichello sets the fastest lap for the Swiss team making its WEC debut in 2025

The top six is completed by the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus and the #46 Team WRT BMW with Arnold Robin and Ahmed Al Harthy setting the quickest laps

Al Harthy is then involved in an incident at the end of the session as he suffers contact with the #51 Ferrari AF Corse driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi at Eau Rouge. The Omani driver suffers some damage and returns slowly to the pits

The #60 Iron Lynx Mercedes that was heavily damaged in an FP2 accident at Raidillon on Thursday afternoon did not take part in the session as the team continue to build-up and repair the all-new WEC LMGT3 design
