Established back in 2000, JOTA’s record in endurance racing over the past quarter-century speaks for itself, with championship triumphs in both the European and Asian Le Mans Series’ and no fewer than 13 podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

JOTA was crowned in FIA WEC’s LMP2 category in 2022 and subsequently lifted the laurels in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams in both 2023 and 2024, making history along the way as the first independent entrant ever to win a race outright in the Hypercar era with its landmark victory at Spa-Francorchamps.

After joining forces with American automotive giant Cadillac, JOTA continued to go from strength-to-strength last season, with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA claiming pole position for three of the eight FIA WEC rounds and delivering a remarkable one-two finish in São Paulo, as both brands reinforced their elite status at the cutting-edge of international endurance racing.

Those performances, allied to continuous technological development across engineering and manufacturing, bear witness to the depth and breadth of capability within the squad – qualities highlighted by British motorsport’s governing body during its star-studded ‘Night of Champions’ at the Royal Automobile Club in London, where JOTA was awarded the coveted Sir Malcolm Campbell Trophy in recognition of its significant and sustained impact in the sport.

The accolade is presented annually to an individual or group that has demonstrated excellence, innovation and influence within the industry. Following in the wheeltracks of McLaren, Ford Performance and Ross Brawn, JOTA becomes the latest recipient of this historic honour, reflecting its esteemed reputation.

“Receiving the Sir Malcolm Campbell Trophy is a moment of real pride for everyone at JOTA,” commented David Clark, whose vision, integrity and work ethic – alongside that of co-founder, Sam Hignett – have made JOTA so widely trusted and respected throughout the global motorsport community and beyond.

“This award recognises not only our achievements on-track, but also the dedication, skill and passion of every member of our team across all of our businesses. JOTA was established with the aim of building a culture of excellence, and to see that recognised in this way is incredibly special.”

“This award is testament to the relentless effort and commitment of our entire team,” echoed JOTA Technical Director, Tomoki ‘Taka’ Takahashi. “Whether in the workshop or at the circuit, every person contributes to the performance that JOTA is known for. We take our work extremely seriously, and our success in the Hypercar class shows what a motivated and united team can achieve. We are very proud to see that work acknowledged through such a prestigious trophy.”

“On behalf of Motorsport UK and everyone in our community, I extend our warmest congratulations to JOTA on being awarded the Sir Malcolm Campbell Memorial Trophy,” added Motorsport UK CBE and Chair, David Richards, hailing the company’s professionalism and competitive spirit.

“The judging panel and I wished to acknowledge the team’s exceptional contribution to sportscar racing over the past 26 years. This honour stands as a distinguished tribute to the entire team and the people within it. JOTA is wholly deserving of this recognition.”
