Larbre bring back Pedro Lamy for Far Eastern boost

Larbre bring back Pedro Lamy for Far Eastern boost

Larbre Compétition didn’t have the easiest of runs in the 6 Hours of Bahrain, with both of its Corvette C6.Rs making unscheduled visits to the pits for repairs, but the French team – multiple winners in the LMGTE Am category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, battled through the adversity and the conditions to bring home a fourth and fifth place in class.  The result allowed them to keep their lead at the head of the battle for the FIA Endurance Trophy For LMGTE Am Teams, although Team Felbermayr-Proton is closing the gap.

Returning to the Larbre fold for the final two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship, to strenghten their championship hopes, is Pedro Lamy.  The Portuguese driver, a former F1 and Peugeot Sport driver, will be in the No.50 Larbre Chevrolet Corvette with Patrick Bornhauser and Julien Canal.

Jack Leconte, Team Manager: “While we didn’t get the result [in the 6 Hours of Bahrain] our performance warranted, fourth and fifth places at the finish allowed us to limit the damage in the world championship classification where Larbre Competition still lead by nine points.

“I will be looking for maximum commitment from the drivers and mechanics over the final two rounds. I’m pleased to see that the No.70 crew is reaching its full potential thanks to the regular races we’ve been running. With the upcoming circuits unknown to our gentlemen drivers, the expertise of our crews will be vital so Pedro Lamy will return to the team for the final two rounds.  It is now time to make the final push.”
