Larbre Competition’s Paolo Ruberti out of Le Mans due to injury
02/06/2016

Larbre Competition driver Paolo Ruberti is set to miss the Le Mans 24 Hours after suffering a substantial accident whilst driver coaching at Hockenheim.

According to a message on social media from Paolo himself, the popular Italian crashed heavily after suffering from a technical problem with the brakes of the car he was driving while travelling at 200 km/h.  He is currently in hospital near Hockenheim in Germany having suffered a compound fracture to a lumbar vertebra.

He will undergo an operation tomorrow (Friday) and the injury will put him out of action for a number of weeks.  This means that the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours will be the first FIA WEC race that Paolo will have ever missed.

There is no news yet on his replacement in the No.50 Larbre Competition Corvette C7 ZO6 in the LMGTE Am class alongside Pierre Ragues and Yutaka Yamagishi.

Paolo promises to keep us all updated on his recovery and, on behalf of the entire WEC paddock, “Get well soon Paolo!"
