03/10/2015

The FIA Endurance Committee have announced some changes to the Balance of Performance (BoP) that affects two of the manufacturers competing in LMGTE Pro and two in LMGTE Am.

The Porsche 911 RSR in the LMGTE Pro class will receive an extra 5kg added to the weight it ran at the Nürburgring and the Circuit of the Americas, moving the overall weight of the car from 1215kg to 1220kg and still 25kg under the 1245kg base weight assigned to the car at the start of the season.

The LMGTE Pro Aston Martin Vantage V8 will have a larger air restrictor in Japan with the British manufacturer being allowed to run a 28.8mm restrictor compared to the 28.6mm restrictor it ran in the USA.  This change also affects the LMGTE Am Vantage V8s, which run the same air restrictor.

The LMGTE AM class Chevrolet Corvette C7-Z06 will also receive a performance break in Japan with the American manufacturer receiving a 20kg weight reduction bringing the base weight of the Corvette down from 1245kg to 1225kg for the 6 Hours of Fuji.
