After two victories in as many weekends earlier this month, and able to celebrate the joy of securing the 2016 European Le Mans Series crown, G-Drive Racing will take an unchanged line-up to China for the 6 Hours of Shanghai. Will Stevens remains in the cockpit alongside Roman Rusinov and Alex Brundle.
Stevens, one of the acknowledged stars of the Fuji race, where G-Drive Racing scored a spectacular victory, stays in the ORECA 05-Nissan as he continues to deputise for René Rast. The German ace, who has been arguably the recognised benchmark performer in the LMP2 class this season, is missing the Shanghai event as his partner is due to give birth to their first child.
G-Drive Racing has confirmed that Rast is set to return to complete the season at the Bahrain finale later in November, where the team will continue its chase for the runner-up position in the 2016 FIA WEC. The factory Audi driver has been loaned to G-Drive Racing on a season-long basis and has been instrumental in securing four consecutive pole positions and driving the development of the ORECA 05-Nissan this season. Rast missed the Fuji race after being called up for official Audi DTM duties at Hockenheim on the same weekend.
