Paolo Ruberti makes a welcome return to the cockpit of the No.50 Larbre Competition Chevrolet Corvette C7 after missing the last round at Le Mans through injury.
The Italian injured his back in an accident at the beginning of June when the car in which he was instructing crashed at Hockenheim.
“I feel good and am very happy to be back here in the FIA WEC,” said Ruberti. “I managed to have a test in Italy about ten days ago and it was all fine, all good.”
Ruberti will join teammates Pierre Ragues and Yutaka Yamagishi in the French team with which he contributed two third place finishes at Silverstone and Spa. Ragues and Yamagishi claimed twenty points at Le Mans for a fifth placed finish.
“I felt okay after the test and I don’t have to wear any brace for my back,” confirmed Ruberti. “I have a special, tight under shirt which can help but apart from that I am in good health and looking forward to being back in the cockpit and with the Larbre Competition team.”
