2 Hours: Glickenhaus Enjoys Healthy Lead; Ferrari 1-2 in LMGTE Pro Class

Glickenhaus Racing enjoyed a hard-earned lead at the front of the field after two hours of the 2022 6 Hours of Monza.

Romain Dumas and then Pipo Derani ensure the Glickenhaus 007LMH Hypercar has a 45-second lead over the No.36 Alpine as a third of the race is completed.

Mike Conway in the No.7 Toyota Gazoo Racing closes on Andre Negrao as battle for second intensifies.

Ferrari place 1-2 in LMGTE Pro as the AF Corse entered Ferrari 488 GTE Evo cars look to have edge on Porsche and Corvette on home soil.

LMP2 sees epic three-way battle for supremacy between the No.22 United Autosports USA, Prema Orle Team and Realteam by WRT machines.

TF Sport and Iron Dames engage in battle for top spot in the LMGTE-Am class.

The Headlines After 2 Hours of the 6 Hours of Monza…… 


  • Glickenhaus take control of first two hours of race as Romain Dumas leads from pole position and is able to open up a 35-second gap before handing over to Pipo Derani 
  • Derani settles into stint and enjoys a 480-second lead as two-hour point is reached 
  • Second is the No.36 Alpine Team ELF entry as Mathieu Vaxiviere is able to vault both Toyotas in the first 90-minutes of the race before handing over to Andre Negrao 
  • Vaxiviere earlier engaged in entertaining battle with Jose-Maria Lopez in No.7 Toyota and wins out after bold move in to the first chicane 
  • Mike Conway takes over No.7 car and starts to close on second placed Alpine 
  • No.8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid driven by Sebastien Buemi places second initially but then drops back behind sister car and then the Alpine after experiencing technical difficulties 
  • Brendon Hartley climbs aboard No.8 Toyota cockpit  
  • Peugeot TotalEnergies place fifth as No.94 car started by Loic Duval stays in touch with troubled No.8 Toyota before handing over to James Rossiter 
  • No.93 9X8 hits trouble in first hour as Mikkel Jensen stops new Hypercar twice and eventually pits for evaluation 


  • Ferrari takes control of the LMGTE Pro category as No.51 AF Corse entered Ferrari 488 GTE Evo started by Alessandro Pier Guidi races to the front 

  • AF Corse team elect to use first of two full course yellow periods in the first hour to top up fuel and Pier Guidi is able to stretch a gap to the chasing Corvette of Nick Tandy 
  • James Calado takes over cockpit of leading Ferrari under third full course yellow just before third hour mark arrives 
  • Tandy loses second position as charging Antonio Fuoco in the No.52 AF Corse Ferrari overtakes the British driver  
  • That move by Fuoco comes after he cleared the Porsche GT Team cars driven by Gimmi Bruni and Kevin Estre 
  • Ferrari run 1-2 at home race with No.51 heading No.52 by three-seconds at two-hour mark 
  • Corvette place third ahead of No.92 and No.91 Porsches as third full course yellow arrives just before second hour is completed 


  • No.22 United Autosports USA car started by Will Owen leads opening phase of the race but comes under fierce attack from Prema Orlen Team entry of Louis Deletraz 

  • Deletraz takes the lead but only after excellent battle between the pair. Local ace Lorenzo Colombo slides into cockpit just before the two-hour mark arrives 
  • That pit stop though ensures the No.22 United Autosports car goes back into the lead as Owen hands over to polesitter Filipe Albuquerque 
  • Realteam by WRT Oreca-Gibson driven by Ferdinand Habsburg gets between the United Autosports and Prema cars to place second as just four seconds covers top three 
  • No.83 AF Corse car leads Pro/Am but is involved in incident with No.21 AF Corse at second Lesmo corner just as third hour arrives 


  • Iron Dames lead the LMGTE Am field from pole position as Sarah Bovy does a triple stint 
  • Belgian driver holds off Ben Keating initially but the TF Sport Aston Martin is able to get ahead by not pitting under full course yellow and completing long first stint 

  • No.77 Dempsey Proton Porsche driven by Christian Reid is in a strong third place as it makes it three different manufacturers in top three class positions 
  • No.98 Northwest AMR Aston Martin penalised with drive through for contact with No.54 AF Corse at Alboreto Curve early in race 
  • Incident between Nicklas Nielsen in No.83 AF Corse LMP2 car and No.21 AF Corse Ferrari riven by Christoph Ulrich brings out third full course yellow just before third hour arrives 
  • No.777 D’Station Aston Martin slows and crawls back to pits at 90-minute mark and loses a lap
