BMW M Team WRT scored a memorable 1-2 at the 2026 TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, as the #10 Garage 59 McLaren tasted success in LMGT3.
BMW took its maiden FIA WEC win via a brilliant strategic masterclass at the 2026 TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps that also delivered a memorable 1-2 result for the Bavarian marque.
Robin Frijns, Rene Rast and Sheldon van der Linde claimed the win after going off strategy in the first phase of the race and then consolidating their advantage, managing four safety car periods to take the chequered flag and trigger wild celebrations for the local WRT run squad.
Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello and Dries Vanthoor drove a superb race acting as a last hour buffer to repel a late charge from the #50 Ferrari AF Corse Ferrari and the #7 Toyota Racing who finished third and fourth.
In the LMGT3 category the #10 Garage 59 McLaren driven by Antares Au, Tom Fleming and Marvin Kirchoffer took victory after the #21 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 of Francois Heriau, Simon Mann was penalised in the last 20-minutes for an unsafe release at its final pit stop.
