Entertainment aplenty planned for WEC Fan Zone at COTA

Round 5 of FIA WEC – the Lone Star Le Mans – will see a whole host of entertainment for families of all ages when the World Endurance Championship visits Austin next month (22-23 February).

The WEC Fan Zone will be open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday and will be located behind the main grandstand.  Ticket holders will get free access to the pitwalk (3:30pm on Saturday and 9:50am on Sunday). There will also be an open autograph session at 9:55am on Sunday allowing fans to get up close and personal with their favourite teams and drivers.

The WEC kiosk will also be at COTA offering free goodies (caps, flags, earplugs and backpacks) as well as WEC School, an Augmented Reality section plus WEC Man – the championship’s official mascot!

For added entertainment, there will also be the circuit’s state-of-the-art karting track open next door to the WEC Fan Zone, with prices starting from $28. Fans can also soar high above the karting track, Turn 1 and the main straight by having a go on the new zipline.   Both activities will be open from 10am – 11pm on Saturday and from 10am until 10pm on Sunday.

Sunday’s Grid Show entertainment will include free T-shirt giveaways, the famous TOTAL drummers, an Honor Guard and a special flyby.
