Nicklas Nielsen will remain part of Ferrari’s top-flight endurance racing efforts for the foreseeable future, after the iconic Italian marque announced a multi-year renewal to the Dane’s contract.
After dominating the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe in 2018, Nielsen stepped up to the FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMGTE category, piloting an AF Corse-run Ferrari 488 GTE Evo alongside Frenchmen Emmanuel Collard and François Perrodo – and clinching the coveted crown at his maiden attempt.
He repeated the feat the following season, prior to lifting the laurels in the LMP2 Pro-Am Cup in 2022. Since 2023, Nielsen has competed for the Ferrari AF Corse factory outfit in FIA WEC’s headlining Hypercar class, sharing the #50 499P prototype with Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina.
The trio triumphed in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans last year and subsequently won the 2025 curtain-raising contest in Qatar. After scooping the runner-up spoils last weekend at Austin’s Circuit of The Americas, they currently sit fourth in the Drivers’ standings with two races left to run, 40 points shy of the sister #51 Ferrari AF Corse crew at the top of the table with 65 remaining in play.
“Continuing to be part of the group of official Ferrari drivers is both a source of pride and a great responsibility for me,” acknowledged 28-year-old Nielsen, whose impressive career résumé includes 12 victories from 41 starts in FIA WEC to-date and 11 further podium finishes.
“In recent years, I have had the privilege of achieving wins I will never forget, above all at Le Mans in 2024, as well as the opportunity to continue improving as a driver. With great determination, I thank Ferrari and look to the future with the hope of continuing to win races and titles together while representing the Prancing Horse.”
“After winning the Ferrari Challenge Europe one-make series in 2018, Nicklas’ growth has been marked by many successes and titles with GT cars,” added Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti.
“That journey took a further step forward in 2023 with his move into the top class of FIA WEC, where he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 in the 499P, confirming his maturity as one of Ferrari’s leading drivers. Determination and leadership are Nicklas’ hallmarks, and we are proud to continue this journey with him.”
