Le Mans cars to star at Goodwood Festival of Speed

One of the highlights of the British summer motoring calendar is the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary (12-15 July).

Held at the home of the Duke of Richmond, Goodwood in the south of England, the event annually brings together an incredible list of stars and amazing machinery to take on the famously narrow 1.16 miles of Goodwood hill.

Le Mans and endurance racing is always well represented at Goodwood and this year will be no different.  Toyota’s 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning TS050 HYBRID will be present, as will the LMGTE Pro-winning Porsche 911 RSR in the famous ‘Pink Pig’ livery, Aston Martin Racing’s Vantage, the BMW M8 GTE and the Ferrari 488 GTE, and many more. From a past era of Le Mans-winning cars there will be the BMW V12 LMR which will be piloted by Pierluigi Martini, and no fewer than 22 Le Mans winners are on the entry list.

In celebration of Porsche’s 70th anniversary, there will be models from every decade including the very first Porsche to wear the famous badge, Derek Bell at the wheel of 917K and 962 Le Mans classics, and the record-breaking 919 Hybrid with Neel Jani at the wheel.
