The Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the final race in the FIA World Endurance Championship for the LMGTE Pro category.

Some final figures and facts

By the end of the Baprco 8 Hours of Bahrain in 2022, 561 cars will have competed in GTE Pro’s 78 races, under 24 different team names.

AF Corse have entered the most cars, with 157 cars, all Ferraris.

Michelin was the most common tyre in GTE Pro, used by 93% of all entrants, and winning 94% of all races.

Le Mans featured the most GTE Pro cars, with 122 entered over the 11 races in France. It would be the only circuit at which all seven marques competed.

Four races saw every GTE Pro entrant finish on the same number of laps:
Shanghai 2019 – 6 cars completed 115 laps
Spa 2020 – 6 cars completed 135 laps
Monza 2021 – 4 cars completed 190 laps
Bahrain 2021 – 4 cars completed 174 laps

Four manufacturers won with multiple generations of car:
Porsche (911 RSR 997, 911 RSR, 911 RSR-19)
Ferrari (458 Italia, 488 GTE, 488 GTE Evo)
Aston Martin (Vantage, Vantage AMR)
Corvette (C7.R, C8.R)

AF Corse were the only team to participate in every WEC GTE Pro race. Both Ferrari and Porsche cars featured in every GTE Pro race. #51 is the only number to appear in every GTE Pro race.

All nine GTE Pro champions are present at its final race, with five of them – James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Michael Christensen, Kevin Estre and Gianmaria Bruni still in title contention.

The fastest recorded speed in GTE Pro came at Le Mans 2022, with Ferrari’s James Calado and Porsche’s Michael Christensen both reaching 312.7 kmh.

Ferrari’s debut with the 488 GTE at Silverstone 2016 saw the winning #71 lead every single lap, the most recent time this feat has been achieved. Its final GTE Pro race in Bahrain comes 2,400 days since its debut.

Corvette #64 led just two laps of the 181 it completed en route to victory at Monza 2022 – the fewest laps led by a winner in WEC GTE Pro.
