Michelin Motorsport Moves

A loyal partner to the FIA WEC since the start, Michelin has recently announced some key changes within its motorsport department.

Pascal Couasnon, seen in the photo with Pierre Fillon and Gérard Neveu just after the re-signing last November of Michelin’s partnership contract with the ACO and WEC, has been appointed the director for Mobility Experience.

Matthieu Bonardel, currently Director of the Michelin group’s Connected Tires Department, has been appointed Director of the Motorsport Business Line (Competition), which includes the WEC, under the supervision of Pascal Couasnon.  M Bonardel previously served as manager for four-wheel competition activities from 2000-2010.

As part of the French tyre manufacturer’s long and phenomenally successful history in endurance racing is the title sponsorship of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, one of the championships run under the umbrella of the ACO.

Gerard Neveu, CEO of the WEC, commented on the news: “We wish the very best to Pascal Couasnon in his new role, and we look forward to welcoming Matthieu Bonardel to the WEC family.”
