Da Costa’s New Happy Home at JOTA

Antonio Felix da Costa is loving life at JOTA as he undertakes his first LMP2 season in the FIA WEC.

The popular Portuguese racer previously drove for the British team at the 2018 Daytona 24 Hours and has instantly fitted into the team as it embarks on a new and exciting relationship with Goodyear tyres.

“I love this team and felt immediately at home,” explained Da Costa, who had his first WEC campaign with the BMW squad during the Super Season.

“There is a really high level of professionalism here and you feel it instantly. We are still exploring and learning about the new Goodyear tyres this season but as we have seen already, there is major potential with the package we have.”

Remarkably, the upcoming Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain will be Da Costa’s debut at the Middle Eastern venue, and the JOTA driver is looking forward to continuing his campaign with team-mates Anthony Davidson and Roberto Gonzalez.

“I think we have a fantastic team with Anthony’s incredible experience and also Roberto’s desire and passion to race. He is a strong silver categorised driver and is doing a great job. I think we will get some strong result this season but as we know the competition in LMP2 is so, so tough.”

Da Costa concluded: “The margins are very fine, so you have to make zero errors and really make the strategies work. The motivation in the team is super high. We want to be up there winning races and if we keep on improving then we will get that chance and grasp it for sure.”
