TOYOTA RACING will conduct the first public runs of its liquid hydrogen-fuelled TR LH2 Racing Prototype next week at France’s Circuit de la Sarthe, ahead of the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (10-14 June).
The TR LH2 Racing Prototype is based upon the same chassis as the race-winning TR010 HYBRID Hypercar with which the Japanese manufacturer is targeting its sixth outright victory in the legendary twice-round-the-clock contest – and first since 2022. Its objective is to advance the development of hydrogen technology in motorsport.
At 12:50 CEST on Thursday, 11 June and 12:45 CEST on Saturday, 13 June, the TR LH2 Racing Prototype will complete demonstration laps of the 13.626km Circuit de la Sarthe, bringing the sound and sensation of a hydrogen combustion engine to fans around the track.

The activity supports Toyota’s ongoing efforts in the realm of hydrogen technology and infrastructure, which the marque has similarly showcased via its participation in both the FIA World Rally Championship and Japan’s Super Taikyu endurance racing series.
In 2023, the ORC ROOKIE GR Corolla H2 Concept completed a demonstration lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe, while a hydrogen engine concept car, the GR H2 Racing Concept, was presented to preview a potential future hydrogen category at Le Mans. Since then, development of the technology has intensified, reaching a further milestone with the unveiling of the liquid hydrogen-powered GR LH2 Racing Concept test car last year at Le Mans.
Twelve months on, TOYOTA RACING takes the next step in that journey with the first public demonstration of the TR LH2 Racing Prototype, which will also be on display to fans in the Hydrogen Village, an exhibition of hydrogen technology including information and vehicles that illustrate the brand’s commitment to a carbon-neutral society. The Hydrogen Village will officially open on Wednesday, 10 June.
